I graduated with a B.S. in Genomics and Molecular Genetics and Human Biology from Michigan State University in 2015. While at MSU, I worked in a toxicology/genomics lab and took part in research using the new CRISPR gene editing technology. I also studied international healthcare in Oaxaca, Mexico for 6 weeks during my senior year at Michigan State. I currently work as a research associate at a pharmaceutical company (Precision Antibody) that develops custom antibodies and is working to find individualized treatments for breast cancer patients.
Following graduation from this program, I plan to attend Physician Assistant school and hope to work on an ethics committee within a large hospital. I am interested in everyday clinical ethics and medical decision making, as well as genetic testing and genome editing ethics. In addition, I am interested in how such ethical issues translate internationally.
